This exceptional semi-detached villa is located in one of the area's choicest districts, on the Sandtmannlaan, which earned the title "most beautiful street in the Netherlands" a few years ago. The house is one of a number of residences designed by the architect G.E.A. Sandtmann, for whom the road is named. These extraordinary homes, built on stone foundations and constructed using double-walled American pine, are so distinctive in style that this unique lane was designated as a national monument in 2001.
The house itself features 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a driveway, bicycle shed, and plenty of storage. The back garden contains a multifunctional outbuilding with a charming veranda. It is situated in an especially child-friendly neighbourhood, near schools, good shopping, railway station, motorways connecting to Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Amersfoort, and nature reserves.

This exclusive area of Naarden exudes a special charm. Inspired by Norwegian wooden building styles, the Amsterdam architect G.E.A Sandtmann designed and built some sixteen mostly double wooden homes here between 1909 and 1915 in what was then an undeveloped area on the southern edge of Naarden bordering Bussum. The region had been part of a defensive military zone, and construction within this originally forested area had accordingly been prohibited, except under strict conditions that importantly influenced the style and the building materials. The original character of both the street and the complex of wooden villas has been lovingly preserved and their status as a national monument is now protected by historic conservation regulations.
